Getting There

CURRENT ROAD WORKS AFFECTING ACCESS TO THE CENTRE

The Townsville City Council is presently upgrading the water supply to parts of the CBD due to being over 60 years old. These works have now moved to the Strand with work occurring from the eastern side of the Strand and extending past the Tobruk pool. These works do impact on people getting to and from the Townsville Entertainment Centre by vehicles, as during this stage of works, all traffic traveling to the Centre along the Stand will be detoured via Oxley Street, into the Townsville City and then along Flinders Street (See attached detour diagram). The stage 2 works are expected to continue to the end of August (weather and conditions permitting).

We strongly recommend that anyone attending the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre for events allow for extra time in getting to the Centre.
